The content on this website is published under a Creative Commons Attribution-Share Alike license, unless marked otherwise.
That means that you can use, translate, quote, remix and parody almost everything I post on this blog, both pictures and text as long as you:
- Make it clear where and from whom you got the content, by linking to me, or the photographer who took the photo.
- Use the same license, so if you publish something based on my content, the same rules apply to yours.
Some of the images I use are not licensed under Creative Commons, but are either used with permission, or I made them myself. In that case, you cannot use them without explicit permission. If it is an image I paid royalties to use, through agencies such as Getty Images, you can’t use it at all, without first going through their payment system.
If you need illustrations or editorial images, I’d recommend searching “the Commons” on Flickr, or Stock.XCHNG.
Or, you could ask people on DeviantArt with “stock” in their usernames. Or ask someone here.
PS: All* photografers and artists agree that it’s nice if you ask first, regardless of license.
